About STVUOC
Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Volodymyr in New York, located at 160 West 82nd Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Established in 1924 and incorporated into its current location in 1956, it serves as the main cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA in New York. The parish is dedicated to Saint Volodymyr the Great, a key figure in the Christianization of Kyivan Rus, and functions as a spiritual and cultural center for the Ukrainian community. It offers regular liturgies, community events, and promotes Ukrainian heritage and faith.
The Challenge
The leadership at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Volodymyr were interested in transforming their website into a channel for digital communication, cultural preservation, and practical support for members. At the heart of this project was the church’s fundraising efforts and support for new Ukrainian immigrants displaced by Russian aggression and war in Ukraine.
The Solution
Working closely with board members, we developed a comprehensive website redesign strategy focused on three key objectives: user experience, communication, and member outreach. Our approach included creating dedicated sections to highlight the client’s member engagement strategies such as: scheduling information, parish bulletins, social media updates, newsletter sign ups ans donation platforms. This, paired with a bilingual content strategy to ensure accessibility among the diverse parish community, clear navigation, and intuitive call to action buttons, resulted in a transformative digital experience that significantly enhanced member engagement. By prioritizing ease of use and inclusive communication, we created a digital platform that informs and connects the ever growing parish community.
The Future
By providing adaptive, proactive services, we ensure the website remains a dynamic, responsive platform for the parish’s evolving needs.
