About ACS ENVR

American Chemical Society Division of Environmental Chemistry, a professional organization dedicated to advancing environmental science and sustainability through chemistry. Founded in 1913, it supports over 3,000 members and promotes research in areas such as environmental analysis, pollutant fate and transport, green chemistry, toxicology, and environmental policy. The division fosters innovation, education, and public awareness, and collaborates with Environmental Science & Technology (ES&T), a leading ACS journal it helped launch in 1967. ACS ENVR also sponsors awards, meetings, and initiatives to empower scientists addressing global environmental challenges.

The Challenge

The ACS ENVR Division was in need of a website that would energize member engagement and support their professional community. Their principal aim was to streamline the awards nomination process, highlight dynamic division programming and support communication. This required a revamp of their existing site architecture and features.

The Solution

After a deep dive into the strategic goals and digital presence of ACS ENVR, we developed a robust but simplified site and information architecture. Together with the division we modernized and integrated a streamlined awards nomination process. We highlighted dynamic programing such as webinars, biannual ACS meetings and symposia utilizing simple to update events and incorporated a blog where the division could easily share announcements, environmental research, policy, educational resources. Notably, including a job listing section in order to expand membership benefits and career resources.

The Future

We are commited to supporting the ever evolving needs of ACS ENVR Division. Our maintenance retainer strategy goes beyond technical support, focusing on continuous digital evolution and community connection. We ensure smooth website performance via software update management, continuous site performance and security monitoring, identification of potential improvements, as well as development of a comprehensive membership portal. Our aim is to create a dynamic digital ecosystem that empowers both division leadership and members.
